So saddened to hear about the loss of Alex. I had the pleasure of knowing him for over50yrs .As an 8yr old my family and Alex and his family moved onto Atholl drive at virtually the same so we grew up (us kids) together .Over the years theres been time when we've not seen each other but when we did we'd have a good catch up a laugh and there was always a hug .Alex and vera(Mr and Mrs nixon) as it was when i were a kid have always been in my life somewhere.i used to say he was like my second dad.i would of been proud to have him as " my dad" .a truly lovely man.it is a pleasure and a honour to have known him ....❣
